The City of Bowie, in an effort to keep our residents at Lake Amon Carter informed, has developed a voluntary mass messaging system to notify residents at Lake Amon Carter of emergency conditions at the lake and Selma Park (flooding, lake closure, park closure, etc.).  Using this system, lake residents can be notified by automated phone call, text message, or e-mail.  There is no charge for these notifications.  If you would like to participate in this program, please provide the following information:

Our new tariff was approved by our Board of Directors on May 8, 2024, and filed with the Texas Public Utilities Commission on May 9, 2024. Being as it is public record, here is a copy of it for you to peruse. Simply CLICK HERE!

Our Service Area

We do not service Silver Lakes (contact the city of Bowie), Frontier Shores, or anything outside our service area. This includes new developments outside our established service area. Our system was designed and implemented in 1995, by a group of engineers establishing our maximum capacity. Entertaining anything outside of that area would impact our current customers. Thank you for your understanding.

Our Service Area

We appreciate all our valued members that use our autopay system or mail their payment in a timely manner. Thank you, because you are the ones that keep us going! Unfortunately, we have some accounts that take advantage of all of us as a corporation and fail to make timely payments. In order  to maintain our current status we will no longer be able to serve accounts that are over ten (10) days late. After ten (10) days your service will be discontinued until the account is caught up. There will be an additional $75.00 service charge per occurrence to cover equipment and transportation costs to turn off your service, and another to restore your water service.

The billing you receive in the U. S. Mail every month is your reminder to pay your bill. There will be no past due notices mailed out. We know sometimes bills get lost in all the junk mail we all get. If you haven’t received your bill  around the normal time (prior to the 15th) just give us a call and we will be happy to advise you of your amount due.

Want to avoid the hassles of paying your bill manually or making a trip to our office? We have made it easy to join our bank draft program with a one-page application located on our website at

https://www.amoncarterwater.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/bank draft application.pdf

Again, we thank you and appreciate all our members that help keep our non-profit corporation running.

Please feel free to contact us at 940-872-5505

Please ensure you have your 911 address plainly visible from the street. This can be from your mailbox, anywhere that is visible from the street. This ensures emergency services can find you, and also ensures correct billing. This is a requirement in the city!

If you see a blue flag by your water lines/meter, please leave it. Ross is doing some identification work on the lines/boxes.

Check us out and LIKE us on Facebook! We will use that for updating also!

PLEASE BE CONSERVATIVE WITH WATER, OUR NATURAL RESOURCE!

We have started using a handheld meter reader, when out reading the meters. This should help cut down on any misreads and excessive usages related to misreads! Please let us know if you have any concerns!
